Anti-Bullying

Have you seen this floating around Facebook over the past few hours and days?  Have you wondered but not watched?  Have you taken the time to read the comments made on Jonah Mowry's page?  If you haven't, I urge you to do so.  While some comments give hope and encouragement, the ones that grasped my attention were the ones urging him to take action. Whether you are in support of LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning) or not, this topic spreads much further.  Bullying in our school systems is something almost all of us experience.  Whether you are 5 or 16, it hurts and can have detrimental effects.

With the internet becoming a safe haven, so to speak, for young teens to speak out and express their feelings we are seeing far too many cries for help.  Why is this? Watching these videos it is difficult to think of what it would be like experiencing middle and high school.  How much have things changed?  Even now I am appalled by comments and postings that find their way to my newsfeed from young high schoolers.  Stop Bullying. Stop Hate.

For those of you who do support LGBTQ and are unfamiliar with the "It Gets Better" campaign started by Dan Savage, watch the videos above.  The campaign urges those who have something to say about bullying to speak their mind in a positive, constructive manor to help those still struggling.  Among youtube "It Gets Better" video's I have come across messages sent by Tim Gunn, Ke$ha and Jason Derulo.

Bullying of any kind, hurts.

God Bless.

Time Square 5/1/2011.
Moments after President Obama gives statement that Osama Bin Laden has been killed.
A day that made history, will you remember where you were?

I wish that I was in Times Square or D.C. at the time of the speech.  Watching all the college students flood the streets waving flags and chanting "USA, USA, USA" was breathtaking.  It is not often we see so many people come together for a specific cause.

I also know that many people have many opinions surrounding this issue for everyone was affected differently.  Remember that people are sensitive and that there are still troops we must pray for and hope retaliation is not sought.

For those of you who were unable to watch the Presidential Statement LIVE last night:

God Bless America.

Help a Bro Out.

If you liked the mix that was posted below and constantly find yourself getting tired of whatever your local radio station is playing, do me a favor and head over to The Amped LIfe.

This is Brendan's up and coming blog (yes he just had to copy my idea of becoming a BlogSTAR), but he will provide you with some great playlists for your weekend extravaganzas. Not to mention, he is a wicked good cook and promised to add some recipes!

What is Internet?

If the previous post had you even slightly irked you, please watch the video above.  As of 1994 even the TODAY show was confused about what "internet" was! Please look at how far we have come from that & sadly how corrupt we are because of it. What would you do without the internet?  We eat, sleep and breath it and when we don't have it we don't know what to do with ourselves.  Its time to admit: we're addicted.

It seems so strange because though it was 17 years ago, just look how far we have come...
Who would have thought we would have technology such as Iphones, Ipads, Blackberry etc.

Yay for the Iphone being released today by the way.  I would have to say that I may, quite possibly, consider switching from Blackberry to Iphone but that won't happen until next february when my plan is up but hey, its still a possibility.  For all the AT&T customers who were constantly asking, "can you hear me now"...welcome to the real world of "good!"

Facebook Integration.

Please excuse the following rant:
Facebook meet onstar, onstar meet facebook.  Oh hey "Chevrolet" driver why don't you meet facebook IN YOUR CAR.

If it isn't obvious enough already I am a bit enraged at the new addition to OnStar equipped cars.  If you can't understand it from the video (Though it is blatantly obvious),  you can now check your facebook "newsfeed" from your car.  God help us if we can't check it for another 20938402983483 time in the day.  CAN YOU SAY ACCIDENTS?

The video above depicts our society as pathetic! I am not saying that I don't log onto facebook a few (or more) times a day but I would never think of checking it WHILE DRIVING.

Dear facebook, please stop running/ ruining our lives with your nosey ways of finding your way into our lives 24/7.  Professors even have to write on syllabuses "Do not surf Facebook during class."  I know that social networking is the newest thing in our generation but there is a point where enough is enough--for me, this is that point.

Peace.

As the world waits and watches to see what will happen next, people are taking a stand.  People from across the world speak out for peace and freedom in Egypt.  After a busy week and realizing I know so little on this protest or may we even call it revolution, I am laying in bed watching Anderson Cooper explain the horrific events which have taken place and what is supposed to happen tomorrow.

I came across this video and wanted to share it to whoever reads my blog:
take the time to watch, educate yourself through the web/tv/newspaper and come to realize that though Egypt may seem so far away, it affects everyone worldwide.

"When the power of love over comes the love of power, the world will know peace"
